The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, fMHR, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Strategic Leadership and Public Resources Management in West Africa by the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to governance and public administration.
The prestigious honour, which also inducts him into the Institute’s 2026 Hall of Fame, was formally presented during a brief but significant ceremony held at his office in Badagry. The delegation was led by Dr. Babatunde Newton, 2nd Vice-President (Academic), accompanied by Engr. Mike Shey Phillips and Mrs. Victoria Olanrewaju.

Established in 1995, the Institute is renowned for promoting excellence in public sector leadership, strategic governance, and responsible resource management across Africa. In its citation, the Institute described Hon.
