The Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, has officially handed over the newly completed Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Secretariat at the council headquarters to the executive members of the association.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Hunpe said the provision of a permanent office for the association demonstrates his administration’s commitment to promoting the welfare, dignity and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in governance.

He noted that the facility would provide the association with a befitting office to coordinate its activities and strengthen its engagement with the local government.

Receiving the office on behalf of the association, the Special Adviser to the Chairman on People with Disability, Mr. Sejuro Ekundayo, expressed gratitude to the chairman, describing the new secretariat as an unprecedented intervention that would strengthen the operations of the disability community and deepen its sense of belonging.
