Badagry Ilera Eko
Badagry Local Government Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, on Wednesday 15th July 2026, directed that residents seeking health-related financial assistance from the council over the next six months be enrolled in the Ilera Eko health insurance scheme, as Lagos State Health District V, in collaboration with Badagry Local Government and the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), organised a free Integrated Medical Outreach at the open space beside Gbenopo Primary School, Agric Road, Sejeh, Ajara Topo.
Speaking at the outreach, Hunpe said, “People need more enlightenment on medical outreaches like this. For the next six months, anyone who writes to the local government seeking financial assistance for health should instead be directed to the Ilera Eko health insurance scheme.”
The outreach featured free registration into the Ilera Eko health insurance scheme, which provides one year of health insurance coverage, as well as free blood pressure checks, eye care, dental care, immunisation, family planning and other healthcare services.
Also in attendance was the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District V, Dr. Oladapo Asiyanbi. Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, said registration into the Ilera Eko scheme during the outreach was free and valid for one year. She said beneficiaries would be entitled to healthcare services covered under the package at accredited hospitals and encouraged enrollees to make use of the agency’s toll-free support line whenever necessary.
