The Chairman of the APC Lagos State Reconciliation Committee, Alhaji S. Alabi Macfoy, has urged party members in Badagry Federation to embrace peace, forgive one another and remain united ahead of the 2027 General Elections. He made the appeal during a special stakeholders’ meeting with APC leaders and stakeholders in Badagry Federation, held earlier today at the Badagry Local Government Council Chamber.
Addressing stakeholders Macfoy said the committee was mandated to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen party cohesion across the state. He called on members to place the party’s interest above personal ambitions, stressing that loyalty should not be determined by the outcome of party primaries. He also commended the turnout and assured members that reconciliation would continue until everyone is fully reintegrated.
Also speaking, committee member Chief Mrs. Hon. Teju Philips urged members to accept the outcome of the party’s internal processes in good faith, mobilise support for all APC candidates, and encourage greater participation of women in politics.
Earlier, APC Badagry Local Government Chairman, Hon. Muritala Gafari Meyon, disclosed that reconciliation efforts had already begun within the Federation, culminating in the inauguration of a 16-member Badagry Federation Reconciliation Committee chaired by Alhaji Abu Akilapa.
In a symbolic show of unity, former aspirants publicly endorsed the APC candidates for the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly, reaffirming their commitment to the party’s collective success.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, appreciated the Lagos State Reconciliation Committee for the visit and reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to sustaining unity, reconciliation, and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The meeting was attended by apex leaders, the three council chairmen, party executives, elected and appointed public office holders, APC candidates, former aspirants, women and youth leaders and other stakeholders from across Badagry Federation.
