Hon. Babatunde Adande Hunpe is a distinguished public administrator, legislator, and development advocate with over three decades of exemplary service in Nigeria’s public sector. Born on August 2, 1963, in Badagry, Lagos State, he has emerged as a transformative leader committed to sustainable development and community empowerment.
Educational Excellence
Hon. Hunpe holds dual Master’s degrees in History & Diplomacy and also inInternational Relations & Strategic Studies, to complement his Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in History & International Relations from the University of Lagos and Lagos State University. His academic foundation is further strengthened by professional certification in Mass Communication.
Distinguished Career
His career trajectory spans pivotal roles from Lagos State University where he served as Head of Protocol and Principal Assistant Registrar / Admin Secretary. He served the government of Lagos State as Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Environment (2015-2019) and Rural Development (2011-2015), where he spearheaded transformative policies that enhanced Lagos State’s environmental sustainability and rural infrastructure. He was massively voted for a Member of the Federal House of Representatives (2019-2023) representing Badagry Federal Constituency. He championed critical legislative areas including Sustainable Development Goals, Environment, Healthcare Services, and Maritime Administration.

Hon. Hunpe is a Fellow of multiple prestigious institutes and maintains active membership in over ten professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, American Association of University Administrators, and the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration of Ghana.
