The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security in the council area through strategic partnerships with security agencies.
As part of this effort, Hunpe during the week hosted a delegation of the Nigerian Forest Security Services (NFSS), led by Komolafe Titilayo, on a courtesy visit to the council secretariat. The team commended the chairman for his inclusive leadership and emphasized the importance of safeguarding Badagry’s forests and natural reserves, which are vital to the local economy and ecosystem. They also pledged closer collaboration with the local government to combat illegal logging, encroachment, and other environmental threats.
In response, Hunpe praised their dedication and assured them of the council’s full support. He noted that protecting the forests is not only an environmental responsibility but also a security necessity, as remote areas are increasingly exploited by criminal elements.
In a related development, the council boss chairman paid a familiarization visit to the Divisional Police Officer of Badagry, CSP Folajimi Agosile. He explained that the visit was aimed at strengthening ties with the police and fostering a united front against crime in the community. According to him, effective policing requires close collaboration between the police, community leaders, and the local government.
“Our administration is committed to building stronger partnerships with all security stakeholders, whether in the forests or within the community. Security is the bedrock of development, and we will continue to work with the police, and other agencies to keep Badagry safe,” Hunpe said.
Both visits reflect the chairman’s broader vision of a safer and more prosperous Badagry, where institutional collaboration remains central to protecting people, resources, and livelihoods.
