The pilot day of the Badagry Local Government Free Medical Outreach and Eye Surgery Programme commenced on Monday at Ajara Primary Health Centre (PHC), Mango, with residents receiving comprehensive medical screenings, consultations and eye surgeries. The initiative organised by the Babatunde Hunpe-led administration in collaboration with NNPC/SNEPCo, is part of activities marking the Chairman’s first year in office.
The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, who visited the facility to assess service delivery and inspect the medical equipment deployed for the outreach, expressed satisfaction with the quality of services being rendered. He also commended residents for taking advantage of the programme. “I am delighted by the impressive turnout and the professionalism of the medical personnel. This outreach reflects our administration’s commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for our people,” the Chairman said.
Hon. Hunpe urged more residents to participate in the programme, noting that the outreach will continue until Friday, 14th August 2026. He added that the programme would be officially flagged off on Tuesday, 11th August, with representatives of NNPC and SNEPCo expected in attendance. “We encourage all residents, particularly those with eye-related conditions, to take advantage of this opportunity to access free medical care and improve their quality of life,” he stated.
