The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, fMHR, has unveiled Kα»ndα»pα» New Era Magazine, a new information and documentation platform designed to chronicle the activities, programmes, projects, people and development journey of the Local Government, as part of the grand finale of activities marking the first anniversary of his administration.

Speaking at the unveiling, Hunpe described the publication as an important component of his administrationβs communication strategy, noting that the name Kα»ndα»pα», which resonates with Badagryβs identity and heritage, captures the spirit of togetherness.
He said the magazine would provide residents with credible information about the activities of their Local Government while documenting the stories and achievements of Badagry for present and future generations.
The Chairman stressed that government must not only deliver programmes and projects but also properly communicate and preserve its development story, expressing the hope that Kα»ndα»pα» New Era would eventually become part of the documentary heritage of contemporary Badagry.
Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Musibau Bolarinwa, also reflected on the meaning of Kα»ndα»pα», describing it as a symbol of togetherness, unity and collective strength. He said the progress of Badagry required the collective efforts of government, traditional institutions, community leaders and residents, adding that the magazine provides an avenue to bring together the diverse stories and contributions that make up the identity of Badagry.
Reviewing the publication, Professor Saka Rahman of Lagos State University commended its concept and editorial direction, describing it as a timely platform for documenting Badagryβs development trajectory and preserving institutional memory.
Prof. Rahman encouraged the publishers to sustain the magazineβs credibility, editorial quality and balance, while continuing to capture the history, culture, people and development experiences of Badagry.
