…says his administration will pay nothing less than ₦50,000 to beneficiaries
As part of his administration’s commitment to educational development and providing succour to parents and students amidst current economic hardship, the Executive Chairman of Badagry local government, Hon. Onilude Segun Adeniran on Wednesday, September 25 inaugurated a special committee on bursary for students.
Hon. Onilude while inaugurating the committee said the bursary is intended for students in tertiary institutions who have shown commitment and dedication to their studies and deserve assistance.
Speaking further, the council boss charged the committee to develop flexible requirements and conduct a fair and thorough assessment of beneficiaries which must cut across the ten wards in Badagry local government.
“This is the second consecutive year that this administration will be giving financial assistance to students from this local government. And given our current economic realities, We believe that this intervention will go a long way in empowering and encouraging our students in their studies. This year we plan to increase the number of beneficiaries and the funds to ₦50,000. We cannot do this alone and that’s why we constituted this committee which is headed by the Supervisor for Education, to come up with requisites needed to apply and the selection process for beneficiaries. I charge this committee to be fair and thorough with the assignment you have been given.”
The Supervisor for Education and Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sewede Pot Balogun appreciated the chairman for his love for human capacity development. Hon. (Mrs) Sewede Pot-Balogun assured the chairman the committee will work assiduously in making merits it’s watchword in the selection process.
Other members of the Bursary Committee are Mr. Coker Emmanuel (HOD Education Department); Hon. Iroko Sulaimon (Super For Works), Mr. Fasinu David; Mr. Augustine Sewhenu Kriko; Mrs. Oluwayemisi Fayinto; Comrade Gbeyon Sewhenu Ayomide.
