FG IN CONJUNCTION WITH LAGOS STATE GOVT GIVE CASH TO LESS PRIVILEGED IN BADAGRY LG

The Federal Government, in collaboration with the Lagos State Government and Badagry Local Government of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reiterated its determination to cushion the effects of the current economic realities and improve the living standards of vulnerable residents within our communities.

This assurance was given by the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, during the official Cash Transfer Programme held today at the Council Secretariat, Badagry. At the event, beneficiaries received the sum of ₦75,000 each as part of government’s effort to uplift the less privileged.

The programme was organized by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction in partnership with the National Social Investment Programme Agency, alongside the National and Lagos State Cash Transfer Offices.

Hon. Hunpe expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sustaining this monetary empowerment scheme under the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a timely intervention to alleviate the hardships faced by many households. He emphasized that the Cash Transfer Programme is a practical demonstration of government’s commitment to providing social safety nets for those most in need.

The initiative, which is anchored on the National Social Investment Programme, leverages the National Social Register to ensure that support reaches the less privileged directly.

Beneficiaries at the event were visibly delighted, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government for its continued support in bringing hope to families at the grassroots.
